Happy Friday, nail art lovers :) Today I have some nails that were super fun to create! I started out with a gradient of purples and white and then topped it off with a snowflake. I used the movie Frozen as inspiration for this look and I loved how it turned out. Take a look:
Here's the gradient without the accent of the snowflake which you could totally rock on its own if you don't want to spend the time on intricacy.
Here is the base polish that I used as a jumping point for the gradient. This is Sinful Shine Nouveau Purple at one coat on its own:
(as a side note- pretty much all of the Sinful Shine polishes I've tried thus far have been one-coaters!)
That's all for today! I hope you enjoyed this look and I'll see you back tomorrow for our Random Swatchfest.
Hey loves. I'm continuing my series of videos that features my most-loved polishes in each hue of the rainbow. It's been a minute since my last one(top yellows) and today I have green. This was incredibly hard because I love, love, love green polish...but I did my best to pick my top ten. If you love green polish I like I do, you may be interested to see what I rank at the top after taking formulation and hue into consideration. Here is the video so you can check that out:

You guys...May is more than half-way over! My kids aren't out of school yet, but they will be soon, and that is insane! Well, you're probably here to see cute faces, so let's get right to it!
Grandma and Grandpa were here visiting as you learned last week. I had to catch a picture of these two enjoying their breakfast together.
Out shopping with Grandma
Goofing around at the mall play area
Brother let Miss Bee play legos with him this week and she discovered how much she LOVES them and played for a good half hour non-stop
More of these two, piling into the same toddler vehicle...
Went to the doc yesterday and he chose the bandaid placement himself...no head wounds, don't worry!
Daddy's hat fits best on me :)
Action shot of this dude on his way home from school
Grandma made me all these tops and these ones have POCKETS!!! with KITTIES!!! on them! Like Sue, she was "so freakin' excited!" Now I'll know if Oliver reads my blogs ;)
That was our shenanigans this week. Yes we are still recovering from sickies here :( They just don't seem to want to leave us alone! Hopefully we're on the mend though and I hope you are all well and happy at your house. Love to all our family and friends far and wide. Hope you're having a great week and hugs from our family to yours!
Hey ladies and gents! Do I have any football fans out there?
I created a tutorial today in honor of my hubby's favorite thing in this life...except for his wife and kids of course...and that is the Pittsburgh Steelers. This is a quick and easy look for you to do at home to get in the spirit of the football season when it comes...or if it's already here for you and your friends/family then you can start getting festive now! Here's where you can watch the tutorial:
And a few more pictures of the finished manicure:
Is the team you root for different than my hubby's? If you want a manicure to rock in support of that team, let me know in the comments what your team is and I'll do my best to create a design you can DIY at home. I hope you're having a fabulous day and I'll see you back tomorrow!!
Hiya Babes! How's your Monday going so far? I was so sick of my house being cluttered and crazy all weekend, so as soon as I finish posting here I'm going to get in major clean mode. I just feel so much better when my house is peacefully clean :) Well today I have a manicure for you that employs a fun and easy technique. Let's take a look:
So I started out with a base of Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Mighty Mango, and then using a detail brush and gold acrylic paint I created the criss-crossing lines down the middle of the nail. After that is dry, I took Sinful Colors Coral Riff(which is similar to Mighty Mango, but with shimmer) and painted along the sides of each nail, leaving the middle exposed. For the accent nail I wanted to see how a navy would look with the coral/mango combination. That's all you have to do! Really simple and creates a fun look that appears to have taken more work than it actually did :) Here is Mighty Mango at two coats on its own:
That's it for today. Have a wonderful rest of your day and I'll see you back tomorrow for a video tutorial...think sports... Bye!

Happy Sunday to you; hope you're feeling well and joyful today! I have a really random manicure for you today...I had on Julie G Tahiti from the Cruise collection that she just released, and I was feeling like painting something to go along with the theme. I was looking at a globe and I liked how the lines dissected the globe in their uniform but curved patterns and I wanted to give it a go. This is a much more abstract interpretation of a globe than literal, so keep that in mind :) Here's the look:
As I said, the base polish is Tahiti, and here it is at two coats on its own:
Can you see the subtle shimmer? There is a blue shimmer running throughout that makes this sea green really special. I didn't snatch all the polishes from this collection, but the other I picked up, Santorini, is the blue that I used to accent on each nail of the above manicure. I hope you enjoyed this look. I think I may have been just a little heavy-handed with the black acrylic, but oh well, right? All in fun anyway :) Keep that spirit in mind as you go throughout your day today. Don't be too hard on yourself and just have a good time! I'll see you back tomorrow.

Hello my fellow polish addicts! How is your Saturday going so far? Wow, it was hot last night- made it difficult to sleep...and it feels like it's going to be another hot one today too! Maybe these ten polishes will give us something to distract ourselves from the heat. All ten polishes have never been featured on my blog before- and now it's their time to shine. Let's get going:
OPI- Every Month is Oktoberfest is a dark maroon shimmer from the Fall 2012 Germany collection. It's such an intense and mysterious color, I absolutely love it. The gorgeous warm, rustic orange running through it gives the polish a duality once you look in close. This is two coats. A
Wet n Wild Megalast Beat of a Generation is from the recently-released collection of brights for the Spring/Summer 2014. This is two coats, and it applied nicely, not perfectly, but it was ok. I found these polishes for just under two dollars at CVS and I think it definitely qualifies as a good bang for your buck. Not my favorite color to wear, but I don't mind the shade. A-
Revlon Marmalade is I think a really gorgeous orange cream. It has just enough pink in it to make it totally wearable, in my opinion. This is two coats, and like the rest of the Revlon Colorstay line it applies nice and evenly. If you find these clearanced at Walgreens and Big Lots, I would snag them up if you find a color you like. A
Sinful Colors Face the Facets is quite a punch of color! This recently hit a display in Walgreens that includes two shades from the shimmer textures released earlier this year. I hadn't tried this one yet but since I so much enjoyed the other polishes in this formulation I had to pick it up. Now, this is definitely not an every-day shade for me...but I do think it has a special something for a day when you're dying to wear something incredibly bright. This is two coats. A
Color Club La Petite Mint-Sieur comes from the Spring 2014 Paris in Love collection. What a delightful dusty pastel green. You're looking at two coats, but perhaps you might want to do a third. This applies nicely if you make sure to leave enough drying time between layers. I think the shade is delightful and is a pastel that doesn't go overly sweet. A-
Julie G Santorini is from the Cruise collection that just dropped this Spring. The collection has 6 lovely polishes, but this one was my favorite because it's periwinkle! I couldn't tell from the bottle that it had any shimmer, but as I look at it here I can see the subtle shimmer. I also see that I could have possibly needed a third layer, but maybe that only shows under my lights. I am always happy with Julie G polishes. This one did not disappoint. A
Julep Iona came to me in my May Julep box and I am absolutely in love with the shade. It is by no means unique...you can find near dupes in China Glaze What a Pansy, Color Club In the Limelight, Misa Total Eclipse of the Heart, Sation Super-nailtural Powers, and Sinful Colors My Bouyfriend. However, it does not keep me from loving the polish. This applied super creamily and silkily in two coats. A really great polish. A
Sally Hansen Gone Gray was an experiment in frost...The color is intriguing, but I did not particularly love it on the nail. It is a nice, deep steel and you're looking at two coats. This line always has a great formula, and if you're looking for a great steel frost, then you might like to pick this one up. B
China Glaze Be Merry, Be Bright over OPI Push and Shove has got some of my favorite colors in it and I absolutely love the combination. The indigo and bright fuchsia make for such a festive and bright celebration on the nail, and so fitting as a part of the Holiday collection for 2013. This is two coats, and it was not difficult to get the amount of glitter I desired on the nail. A
Pure Ice Lucky Charming is my A+ polish of the week, and can you see why? The green and gold shimmer/foil is so delicious! I just love how lit up this polish is. You're looking at 2 coats and for how powerful this polish is- can you believe you can pick it up at Walmart for under 2 bucks? This one might have been promoted in a St. Patrick's Day but if it happens to still be at your Walmart like it was at mine...now you know what you can expect.
So how was that? Did you find your polish fix for the day in these 10 shades? Which was your favorite of the bunch and what have you been wearing on your nails this week? I hope you're having a fabulous day and I'll see you back tomorrow!
