Essie Summer 2015

Another amazing collection from Essie, they really did an amazing job in 2015, this is the Summer collection.  There are 6 polishes in this set, just as in all the other.  If you'd like to watch my live application review of this collection, you can do so here:

On to the swatches:

Chillato is such a cool and different polish.  It's a great light green-yellow that isn't at all too funky to wear.  This is two coats, as with the rest.

Peach Side Babe is one of my favorites.  The color is just so juicy, and so Summer.  Two coats.

Pret-a-surfer is my favorite out of the collection for sure, and it was my very favorite polish out of all of 2015.  I know there are lots of polishes out there in this shade but the formula is so good, and there's just something so special about this one.

Private Weekend is a white cream with teeny tiny bits of glitter in it.  It makes the formula a little bit less than desirable, to be honest. I think I'd go with a different white when it comes down to it.

Salt Water Happy is a light grey blue.  This one was unexpected for me in a Summer collection for sure, but I still really enjoyed it cuz I love grey blue polish :)  Two coats.

Last up we have Sunset Sneaks, and just look at this perfection!  I did two coats of this hot, hot, youthful red/coral but I could get away with one.

I hope you found this helpful or at least saw some purty polish :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Saturday Random Swatchfest 3/28/2015

Hey friends :) Per usual, for this Saturday Swatchfest we're going to look at 10 random polishes from my collection.  I'll give them each a grade and tell you what I think about em.  Then we'll look at my A+ polish of the week.  I hope you find something you like.  If you'd like to see live application of all 10 polishes, you can do so here:

Let's look at the polish:
OPI Red Fingers and Mistletoes is a beautifully shimmering ruby red.  This goes on nicely in two coats.  This was just one of the many reds in the Gwen Stefani Holiday 2014 collection.  A

Ulta Encore Pink is of course found at Ulta.  This is two coats, and as you can see, it's not quite opaque at two coats.  I have to say, this one was a bit disappointing.  I suppose you could go for three coats, but I'd probably just look to one of the other millions of baby pinks out there.  B-

Julie G Bikini is a gorgeous bright peach.  This really captures summer perfectly.  If I wore bikinis, this would be a great color for one :)  I've shown you two coats and it applied easily enough.  A

Color Club Almost Famous is a very sunny, almost retro-feeling yellow.  This is two coats.  A

China Glaze At Vase Value is a very light sky blue cream.  This was a tad bit streaky at two coats but I just want to like it so much!  A-

Misa Blue over a Boy of such a great blue.  This is two coats and it could maybe use a third but I loved how it applied so nicely.  A

Julep Gayle ended up being one of my favorite polishes of 2015!  This is one coat of this beautiful plumy purple.  Love, Love, Love.  A

Revlon Cloud is an oldie in my collection.  I love how it is a very very light lavender cream.  This is two easy coats.  A

Color Club Diamond Drops is a glitter made up of holographic shreds in a clear base.  I really really like this one!  A

Zoya Chita was my A+ polish this week and it's a matte textured forest green polish which reflect spring green glitters.  Just stunning, and so easy at two coats.

I hope you found this helpful or at least saw some purty polish :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Essie Spring 2015

Ok so this collection is sooooo good :)  This is Essie's Spring 2015 collection.  If you'd like to watch live application of all 6 polishes, you can do so here:

Blossom Dandy is the soft sky blue in the collection.  This is two perfect coats.

Flowerista is one of my favorites, and it's actually hard to say that because I love the whole collection, but yes this was one of my favorite polishes released in 2015.  Two easy coats, but I could have done just one.

Garden Variety is a gorgeous slightly dusty teal blue.  So perfect and this is two coats, but again I could probably do just one.

Perennial Chic is such a lovely warm nude.  This is two easy coats and applied like a dream.

Petal Pushers, what can I say?  They included a slightly-blue gray cream?  Ugh, so good!!  This is two coats.

Picked Perfect is the second nude in the collection, just a bit darker than the last.  Two coats again here.

I feel like I wouldn't necessarily put these polishes together in a Spring collection, but it typical Essie style, they put the most gorgeous colors together!  I recommend every single one.

I hope you found this helpful or at least saw some purty polish :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Saturday Random Swatchfest 4/25/2015

Welcome to our swatchfest from April 25th 2015!  If you'd like to watch me present all the polishes on my channel, you can do so here:

On to the swatches:
NYC Times Square is a perfect red cream.  This is two coats, and it's just a couple bucks at the drugstore.  Can't get much better than this!  A

American Apparel Lazuli, sigh... I looove this color.  So bright and vibrant!  I want to put this on my toes and never take it off.  Two coats.  A

China Glaze Mosaic Madness is such a fun glitter- I totally don't mind the thin bar glitters in the mix with the bright sapphire blue.  This is two coats over another polish in this swatchfest.  A

Kleancolor Chunky Holo Fuchsia- what a fun polish; it does have such a cool look on the nail when you put it over a dark polish like the black I'm showing you here.  It reflects, green, yellow, orange, pink, and red.  This is stinky, and takes a while to dry, but it has a great price tag :)  B+

Pure Ice Shore Bet is a perfect beige tan!  I love it! Wow, Pure Ice makes great polish :)  This is two easy coats.  A

Sally Hansen Funky Flare is such a great shade of orange.  Such a fave!  Two coats.  A

Spoiled Permission to Proceed is a neon green that is very sheer so you need to wear it over white or light green undies.  I didn't end up loving this that much, but it really is bright! B-

Ulta Sweetheart Pink is so gorgeous, and I don't even really like pink that much.  I think because it's a kind of juicy light berry pink is why I enjoy it.  This is two coats.  A

Wet n Wild On a Trip is such a great purple cream!  This is two easy coats, and it's the quintessential grape color.  A

Last up is the soft and impeccable Zoya Kristen.  Perfect two coat Zoya cream formula here.  A+

I hope you found this helpful or at least saw some purty polish :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Julie G Candy Shoppe Colors Collection

Today's post is on the Candy Shoppe Colors Collection from Julie G.  There are nine polishes in this collection and they all have a 2-3 coat formula that dries matte and barely textured.  If you'd like to see how each apply, you can do so here:

On to the swatches:
Candy Shop is the orange red which I really loved at two coats.

Lemon Drop is a very fun citrus yellow that makes my mouth pucker up just looking at it.  This is two coats and it could probably use a third.

Licorice Twist is a black polish that I feel could have been a bit darker, or more pigmented.  This is two coats.

Lolli Pop is one of the two purples in the collection.  They are SUPER similar.  I don't think they needed to include both.  If I have to differentiate between the two, this one is a tiny eensy bit more red...barely.  This is two coats.  It could use a third.

Pixi Stick is the perfect candy pink in the collection.  I loved this at two coats.  One of my favorites.

Sour Apple is the green offering.  I really only liked this one, not loved.  Two coats again here.

Sour Grape is the other purple.  See, super similar to the other purple.  This is also two coats.

Sweet Tooth is the blue offering.  I wish this had been a bit more opaque at two coats cuz I really loved the color.

Wild Cherry is the perfect cherry red to go in this candy collection.  This is two coats.

I hope you found this helpful or at least saw some purty polish :)
