Bonita Salon Fabulously Diva Live Application

Hey guys!  If you have been wondering when we were going to see another display from Bonita Salon- well a new one has finally hit stores and today we're going to look at it.  As always, if you'd like to see the review in video format, you can do so here:

Let's look at the polish!  First off they all have a great two-coater formula and not one in the bunch was problematic for me.  I think this is a great set, for a very decent price.  I think they were about $2.50 a bottle at Rite Aid.
Bonita Salon Dream Wonderland is a basic metallic silver, which is rather boring, but it kinda grounds the collection.  Great formula.

Bonita Salon Fantasy Flowers was probably my least favorite just because I don't really care for the shade of pink/purple, but the formula is just as good.

Bonita Salon Made to Envy is such a lovely shimmering teal.  Perfect formula again.  Loved it.

Bonita Salon Prima Donna is the vampy red and this one has the same great formula as the rest. Nothing super new here, but it's pretty.

Bonita Salon Royal Wishes is one of my favorites!  Just look at that color!  What a perfect blue and so much depth.  Yummy!

Bonita Salon True Diva is the lovely cherry red with subtle shimmer.  Two coats and just glides on the nail.

That wraps it up.  Hope you have a fabulous day and I'll see you next time :)

Saturday Random Swatchfest 1/10/2015

Hey!  It's Swatchfest Time!! I'm excited, are you?  As always we are going to look at ten random polishes from the untried portion of my collection.  If you'd like to see the live application review of these polishes, you can always view that here:

Let's look at the polish:

For our red polish this week, we have FingerPaints Vintage Glam which is a lovely bright, slightly-cool, red crelly.  This gets opaque in two coats and I was pleasantly surprised at the lovely coverage. A

Next up we have e.l.f. Electric Pink which is a pretty basic medium pink cream.  The nice this about this polish is that it practically applies itself and it's only a couple bucks.  This is two coats.  A

For orange this week, we're looking at this new polish from Wet n' Wild called Nuclear War.  It was released with a number of other new polishes, in this new packaging, and it has a great two-coater crelly formula.  I'm not crazy about orange polish, but I did enjoy this one because I had no application issues.  AND it's $.99!  A

The polish I am swatching for yellow this week is the amazing dusty mustard from Orly that I still can't find a name for!  A few subscribers gave me ideas for what it could be, but alas, none turned out to be right.  I still pine to find the name of this gorgeous polish that Marshalls had the audacity to sell without a name on it.  You definitely need two coats, but it was really easy to apply.  A

Our green polish is from the OPI Gwen Stefani Holiday 2014 collection and it's called Christmas Gone Plaid.  I know this is a very "Christmas" green, but I feel like it doesn't have to be stuck in that one time of year because it's such a gorgeous color.  You really do need two coats here, but after two it is rather lovely and I had no trouble with application.  A-

Nails Inc Primrose Park is our blue polish this week.  It's a two-to-three coater and I thought it might be a duochrome but it's probably just what the bottle says, it's a metallic but a very vibrant punch of color for a metallic.  This is two coats.  A-

My purple polish this week is French Lilac from American Apparel and it is such a lovely one-coater. I've actually shown you two here, but you don't need it.  It does dry semi-matte.  Loved the formula!! A

Zoya London, which is a medium, warm gray textured polish with tons of silver micro glitter.  I've shown it to you here layered over a very light blue because when I swatched it on the wheel I thought it might be a nice topper, but I think you could probably reach an acceptable amount of opacity at two to three coats on its own.  A-

For glitter this week we're looking at Deborah Lippmann Today Was a Fairy Tale.  It's a slightly-blue/silver micro and hex glitter that rests in a barely blue base.  This is two coats over French Lilac that I showed you earlier.  I had no application issues here.  A-

My A+ polish of the week comes from the drugstore.  I picked this up at Walgreens the other day because I was so excited to see this gorgeous powder blue, and it had some surprising subtle shimmer.  It's from Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear and called Babe Blue.  This had a great two-coater formula.  Snatch it if you see it :)

What was your A+ polish of the week?  See you back next time!

Barielle Me Couture Collection with Live Application

Hey there! I hope you're ready to see another fabulous collection from Barielle because that's what I have for you today.  This collection is called Me Couture and it's full of rich luscious creams.  There are six polishes in this collection and they are all so yummy.  If you'd like to see the live application review of this collection so you can see formula for yourself here:

Let's look at the polish:
Let's start with this gorgeous deep teal green called Boho Chic.  This is practically a one-coater but I've shown you two here.  I really loved this one! It's a must-have and I had no application issues.

The deep violet cream in the collection is called Moda Bleu.  Another stunner, this applied like a dream and had a great formula.  I've shown you two coats again.

The only polish in the collection that didn't have an almost perfect formula is this dusty violet called Soho at Night.  At two coats, I could still see a bit of the nail so you might need a third coat here.  It was very thin so you can do three with no problem.  I did really enjoy this polish, but if you were looking for one you don't "need" this might be it.

This gorgeous taupe nude is called Taupe Notch.  I really loved this shade and was so happy that it had a fabulous formula to go with the color.  This is two easy coats.

The other nude of the collection is this brown/pink with very subtle shimmer and it's called Vintage Gown.  You can't see the pinky-gold shimmer very well in my swatch here because it is so subtle, but it's there and it makes it really interesting.  This is two coats.

A surprise favorite for me was this super pungent berry called Berry Posh.  I loved, loved this one- I think it's a definite must-have and I don't even love pink polish.  This is two coats.

I hope you found this review helpful.  Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great day!

L'oreal Dark Sides of Grey Collection with Live Application

Well hello there!  I have another review for you today- this time it's from L'oreal and It's called Dark Side of Grey.  The collection is comprised of 8 polishes, and in comparison to the OPI Fifty Shades of Gray collection(which came out at about the same time) this one really does give a much better offering.  I reviewed this on my channel with full live application and you can see that here if you like:

Let's look at the polish:
First up we've hot this very light gray- that's almost a cream shade- called Aux Chandelles.  It doesn't dry super glossy- it's kind of semi-satin.  I've shown it here two coats without topcoat so you can get an idea of what it looks like naturally.  I really enjoyed this one.  It applied without issue and is a really great choice for a neutral.

There are two textured polishes in this collection(which I happened to love because I'm still enjoying texture) and the first is this deep gray that almost seems like it might have a touch of plum.  It's called Bad Bad Grey and I've shown you two coats here.

Another very deep gray in the collection is this polish that dries very matte and it's called Grey Corset.  This is a blue-toned gray and you pretty much only need one coat.  This is two coats, which it doesn't really need, but I've done it for consistency.  I loved this one for the color and versatility, and if you don't like matte polishes- just look how glorious it is with topcoat:

Probably the showpiece of the collection is the amazing silver holographic called Masked Affair. This is two coats, without flash.  This holographic is really fantastic for drugstore.  Bravo L'oreal!

A deep gray frost that leans just a little bit green is called Miss Grey.  I really did enjoy this one for the fact that I feel like the collection tries to offer you a bit of everything.  I love that it has a bit of green and for all our frost lovin' peeps out there this gives you a great option and it doesn't have brushstroke issues.  This is two coats.

The most straight-up gray of the collection is this deep gray lustre polish called Power Potion.  I would call it a frost, but with no brush strokes at all, it's more like a lustre finish- which for me is in between a shimmer and a frost.  This is two coats and I loved it.

The dense shimmer gray that leans a bit teal in the collection is called Totally D'accord.  I felt like this was another interesting addition to the bunch, while veering the farthest from gray.  This is two coats.

The final polish in the collection is another texture.  It's a grungy gray called Caution Please.  I again really enjoyed that they put another texture in here, but if you don't like texture, you can easily pass on this one.  This is two coats, but you may only need one.

I hope you're having a great day and that you found this review helpful :)  See you back next time!

OPI Fifty Shades of Grey Collection with Live Application

Hey guys :)  A few weeks ago I reviewed the recently-released Fifty Shades of Grey 6 piece collection from OPI.  This collection is meant to go along with the release of the Fifty Shades of Grey film.  It's made up of creams, a shimmer and a metallic.  I feel like the concept behind this collection was great, but some of the polishes have some application issues.  If you'd like to see the live application review of the collection you can find that here:

Let's look at the polish:
The first gray cream in the collection is Cement the Deal.  This was a good two-coater, one of the better formulas of the bunch.  This is the lightest gray and I actually really liked this one.  I had no application issues here.

Next up we're going to look at Dark Side of the Mood which is what I considered the worst polish in the collection.  The thing is- I was so hoping that this deep, slightly cool gray would be amazing. However, it's really thin and watery and you need at least three coats.  I was bummed this wasn't better.  In any case- there are many gray polishes out there- you don't need this one.  You see three coats here.

The next gray cream in the collection is just slightly darker than the first one we looked at.  It's called Embrace the Gray.  I had no application issues here.  It's just pretty basic.  I'm showing you two coats here.

The shimmer/metallic polish in the collection is called My Silk Tie.  I actually didn't care for this one.  It was on the sheer side at two coats, which just isn't worth messing around with when there are SO MANY silver metallic polishes out there.  I say pass on this one.  You see two coats here.

The one pop of color in the collection, I feel very fittingly, is Romantically Involved which is a sexy vibrant red cream.  The formula and opacity on this polish was just fine, nothing to break the mold here.  If you really need a red cream, or you are a huge fan of the book you might want this one. Otherwise, you really don't need it.  This is two coats.

The one glitter polish in the collection is a blue and silver microglitter/shimmer called Shine for Me. I've shown it to you here at two coats over Cement the Deal.  This was definitely the most interesting polish in the collection.  If you aren't a fan of the books, this is probably the only polish you "need."

Well that's the whole review.  I hope you found this helpful.  Have a fabulous day and I'll see you back next time.

FingerPaints Bright Lights Big City Collection Live Application Review

Who loves FingerPaints polishes?? They are sold at Sally Beauty Supply and they recently came out with a new collection called Bright Lights Big City.  It's comprised of 6 polishes- they are shimmers and glitters.  If you'd like to watch the live application review of this collection you can do that here:

Let's look at the photos:

First let's look at one of the glitters.  This is Dance Floor Diva and I'm showing you one coat over Urban Lights, another polish in this collection.  It's a lightly-tinted purple base with micro gold and purple shimmer with blue, pink, and white hexes.  This one looks really lovely over a dark base to let those microshimmer/duochrome shimmers really shine!  I've also shown it to you here over white so that you can see what the polish is made of.

Next up we have a dark gray, almost black jelly base that is filled with micro silver, red, and blue glitters.  It's called Hey Mr. DJ!  This is two coats that you're looking at but it doesn't really reach opacity at just two.  I'd definitely go for a third.  I had no issues with application.

Another chunky glitter in the collection, this one is called In the City Lookin' Pretty.  Again I've shown you the polish over white and it's only one coat.  You get a lot of product here with each swipe.  It's a clear base with light rosy-pink and holographic hexes.

They included one polish that is truly just a topper multichrome.  It's called Paint the Town Purple. On it's own this one is fairly sheer- kind of what the bottle shot looks like, but lighter.  Over black, which is what you see here- it really lets the pink, purple, and copper of the multichrome shine.  I love the look of this special polish. This is just one coat over black.

Another multichrome in the collection, this is Urban Lights.  This one shifts from pink to teal, but I wasn't able to capture it very well with my camera.  In the bottle you can see it a bit better.  This one is really stunning and you're looking at two coats.

One of my favorites from the collection is this fantastic pink and gold duochrome called What a Night.  This is two coats; it applied nicely, and I really just wanted to stare at it all day long.

I hope you found this review helpful.  I think FingerPaints is a really underrated polish brand so I'm always happy to present it.  I hope you're having a great day and I'll see you back next time :)

Barielle Jetsetter Collection

Hey loves :)  A few weeks ago I reviewed the Barielle Jetsetter collection on my channel and I fell behind here on my blog so we're finally going to take a look at it today.  It's a 6 piece collection made up of creams and shimmers.  It has a very earthy feel to it and there is so much in here that I LOVE! If you'd like to see the live application review of this collection so you can see formula for yourself, you can do that here:

Let's look at the photos:
First we have Autumn in Seoul which is a deep copper shimmer.  It looks just divine like this in two coats.  This is sort of frosty- but I didn't have a problem with brushstrokes.  Very sultry and toasty.

This dusty sage green cream is called Gondola Ride.  I had no issues with formula and you see two coats here.  Something about this color is very soothing.  It's like a taupe with a pinch of green.

They included another green cream a bit more vibrant this time, but still dusty.  I really love this one. It's called Irish Eyes and I think a must-have if you love green polish.  You are looking at two coats.

This lovely taupe/nude cream is called Kiss Me Kate.  Another fabulous addition to the collection- you're looking at two easy coats.

After a number of muted colors in this collection, they gave us this blast of gorgeous deep blue indigo.  It's called Midnight in Paris.  You're looking at two coats and it's hard to pick favorites in this collection- but I really love this one.

Last up, we're going to look at one of my favorites- this is a fabulous periwinkle blue called Rain in Spain.  You're looking at two easy coats and I highly recommend this one.

There you have the whole collection.  I hope you found this helpful.  This was such a fabulous collection to end out my year with.  Absolutely loved it and I did purchase it at barielle.com.
